InfoSEC - Mitigating Risk ...
Westbrook, ME 04092
This session will cover some of the basic areas of risk management used in the vendor contracting process. Vendor management is an important part of the risk management process in an increasingly outsourced IT world, and negotiating a good contract is a good starting point to a healthy and safe vendor relationship. The discussion will talk about forming the negotiating team, understanding the vendor’s perspective and needs, and will touch on risk management areas including liability, indemnity, warranty, service level agreements, performance standards, user acceptance, and agreement termination.
About the Speaker: Joshua Broder is the President of Tilson Technology Management, a Portland based IT consulting company with a strong national and international practice in information security. Josh’s background in information security and risk management goes back to his experience as an Army communications officer, building and securing networks in Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia for the US Government. Now, Josh consults on managing vendor risk, and augments corporate legal teams on contract negotiations for IT services. Josh is also the President of the Maine Fiber Company, Inc, which is building a 1,100 mile stimulus funded fiber optic network here in Maine.
