This is the regular meeting of the Project Leadership SIG. Steve Westcott presents, on 10 common pitfalls that can derail projects.

Why do good projects go bad? How could a project, which was run “by the book” end up less than successful? What is it that “the book” isn’t telling us?

TechMaine and S. Randall Westcott present an opportunity to learn from the experts. Join us as we examine 10 common pitfalls that can derail even the best of projects and 20 ways to avoid them.

About the Speaker: S. Randall Westcott (Steve to his friends and colleagues) is an independent IT consultant with more than 20 years of Project Management, Project Leadership experience. He has led/managed multiple successful large and medium size projects and countless small projects from Rhode Island to Maine.

Since Steve’s first project where he “jumped off a cliff” unprepared, with no experience and little guidance he undertook a process to ensure that next time he would be properly prepared. Since then, there have been many next times. From his studies, experience, and his own school of hard knocks, Steve has developed numerous unique methods and techniques for successful project leadership. Join Steve and other Project Leaders from around New England as he shares his techniques and methods along with some of his own experiences in this informative and entertaining presentation.
