65 Forest Falls Drive
Yarmouth, ME
This is the regular monthly meeting of the TechMaine Linux User Group. MEETING LOCATION: Fluid Imaging, 65 Forest Falls Drive, Yarmouth.

The September LUG meeting will be an introduction to electronics hardware hacking.

MEETING LOCATION: Fluid Imaging, 65 Forest Falls Drive, Yarmouth. Plenty of parking. Thanks to the folks at Fluid Imaging for hosting this month's meeting.

Do It Yourself electronics projects are popular with many of the same individuals who are drawn to free operating systems like Linux. We'd like to explore the local level of interest in this topic by hosting a hands-on lab-style meeting with the goal of building a small electronics project before we leave.

In the spirit of Linux, we've chosen the  Arduino, an open-source hardware board, to explore for this meeting. If you would like to fully participate, you'd should obtain an Arduino board of your own, probably an Arduino Duemilanove. They are readily available (Amazon ~$28). You'll also need a laptop for programming (Linux, Windows or Mac) preferably with Perl or Python and the Arduino IDE (v0018) already installed. Bring your laptop with Perl or Python even if you don't have an Arduino as there will be host computer code to write.

Head over to the LUG forum for more info or to post questions.
