Work it UP:
Putting Unemployed Professionals back to work
Work it UP is a social entrepreneurial nonprofit organization with the objective of putting Maine’s Unemployed Professionals back to work faster than conventional methods. We achieve this by working with local businesses and organizations to develop projects that Unemployed Professionals can perform on a short-term basis. These projects provide companies with professional expertise, while at the same time giving Unemployed Professionals an opportunity to display their skills, meet company leaders, and add to their professional resumes.
Unemployed Professionals participating in Work it UP perform unpaid volunteer projects for business clients. Projects are defined in advance, are short-term (typically 8 to 10 weeks), are part-time, and are targeted to the specific business needs of our client organizations.
Client Companies get the delivery of targeted, project-based work completed by qualified professionals at very affordable rates.
