The Status of Energy in Northern New England: What’s Happening and What’s Next

Energy production and consumption in Northern New England isn’t just about oil, gas and electric anymore. Those forms are still here, but the landscape now also includes solar, wind, biomass, pellet, waste-to-energy, tidal power, hydro-electric and more. What can we learn from the changing tides of energy in the region? What does it mean for consumers, businesses and firms in the A/E/C industry? Our panelists will discuss current and emerging technologies in energy and what these mean for businesses and firms in the region, with regard to both how energy is received and what construction projects may come about as a result.

Our distinguished panelists are:

  • Paul Aubrey, President, Self-Gen, Inc., Scarborough, ME
  • Cindy Carroll, Director, Customer Energy Solutions, Unitil Corp., Portsmouth, NH
  • Gerry Chasse, President and Chief Operating Officer, Bangor Hydro Electric, Bangor, ME
  • Karen Cramton, Energy Program Administrator, New Hampshire Office of Energy and Planning, Concord, NH
  • Jon Sorenson, President and Chief Operating Officer, Competitive Energy Services (CES), Portland, ME and Topsfield, MA
  • Mark Weidman, President, Wheelabrator Technologies, Hampton, NH

The event will start with breakfast and networking from 8:30 – 9, and the discussion, moderated by David Dunning, Vice President, S. W. Cole Engineering, Inc., will begin at 9.
