Call for Papers on Cybersecurity Education
Call for Papers on Cybersecurity Education
2010 International Conference on Security & Management
World Congress in Computer Science
Las Vegas, Nevada, July 12-15, 2010
We would like to invite you to submit a paper in the area of Cybersecurity
Education to the Technical Session that we are organizing at The 2010
International Conference on Security and Management Conference (SAM'10),
which is part of The 2010 World Congress in Computer Science, Computer
Engineering, & Applied Computing (WORLDCOMP'10). WORLDCOMP'10 will be held
in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA during the period July 12-15, 2010. The exact
times and dates of our presentations will be determined once we get the
session organized.
DESCRIPTION OF THE TECHNICAL SESSION
As the importance of cybersecurity in our society grows, it is clear that
we are not producing nearly enough people skilled in this area.
Cybersecurity education is the key to producing people more skilled at
cyber defense. This session will focus on ways to enhance cyber education
for researchers, graduate students, undergraduate students, high school
students, members of the workforce, and the general public. This session
will provide information about curriculum, tools, environments and the use
of cyber defense competitions at both the collegiate and high school level
to motivate students. This session will also focus on research problems
that come from efforts to support cybersecurity education.
This technical session will bring national focus to the importance of
cybersecurity education since the estimated 2,000 participants at
WORLDCOMP10 are able to attend any of the sessions that interest them.
We must have at least 6 papers in our session and no more than 40. I am
looking for the following types of papers:
(RRP) Regular Research Papers
This requires a 7-page IEEE-style paper that will appear in the
proceedings. The paper will be presented in a 20-minute formal
presentation slot.
(RRR) Regular Research Reports
This requires a 7-page IEEE-style paper that will appear in the
proceedings. The presentation will be in an informal setting during
Discussion Sessions. Typically, those authors with language difficulties
prefer this mode of presentation.
(SRP) Short Research Papers
This requires a 4-page IEEE-style paper that will appear in the
proceedings. The presentation will be in an informal setting during
discussion sessions.
(PST) Posters
This requires a 1-page IEEE-style paper that will appear in the
proceedings. The presentation will be in an informal setting during
discussion sessions.
We would like to have a wide range of papers and am especially interested
in getting some undergraduates to present papers related to cybersecurity
education, including papers on how they prepare for the Cyber Defense
Competitions.
WORLDCOMP'10 will be a friendly setting for undergraduates. All told there
will be 22 different conferences taking place during the same dates in Las
Vegas. The conferences cooperate so that if you register for one of the
conferences you can go to any session in any of the other conferences. In
addition you can attend any of the tutorials and any of the keynote talks
at no extra charge.
If you would like to participate in this technical session please send the
following information by March 24, 2010 to George Markowsky
(markov@umcs.maine.edu).
A title
A one page abstract
A list of all the authors. For each author please include
Complete name and title
Complete mailing address
Complete e-mail address
Complete Fax and Phone Information
An indicator who should be the contact author for the paper
You will be notified whether your paper has been accepted by April 1,
2010.
Please circulate this call for papers to interested people. For more
