Does anybody use Linux desktops in your enterprise?

Why do you think most enterprises are resistant to the use of a linux based desktop environment?

Linux desktop

I think Linux would be a great OS for web clients in schools and libraries. It is easier to secure and, of course, free. And once you're in Firefox you almost can't tell what OS you're using anyway.

Personally I prefer Mac OS X for a desktop environment, though I have an Ubuntu laptop that I use when I'm on the road.

Support contracts and vendor

Support contracts and vendor lock in. That is what I think is preventing a lot of the Large Enterprises from not converting. Ignorance is another big reason...

I love it when....

I love it when the latest MS virus hits and all my *nix boxes are humming along just fine!
