I do virus scanning on my Linux file servers. Although a virus infecting a Linux box is extremely unlikely, a virus can sit on a Linux box to infect windows machines it comes in contact with.
I did just read that there are some windows viruses that are effecting *nix under WINE.
I have not been scanning mine since I have no mail servers and very tight security on the boxes. I am however thinking about starting. I do have a scanner on an OS X system that is sitting in my DMZ, but thats all.
I am thinking it is just a matter of time before I might need to add one. I am trying to figure out which ones I should test out before makiing a decision.
I now have client software for Linux virus scanner. Hopefully I can get it installed in the next week or so. I will post to let you all know how it worked out.
