Intro. to Drupal meeting

Sometimes other groups have done introductory ("newbie") meetings, with the expectation that it would be a different audience from the regular group meetings. For Drupal, I'd think the meeting might be about how to install Drupal, overview of what it does, what modules and themes are, how to approach looking for modules, and so on. But we could also do more specific and less basic intro. topics, depending on interest.

The big question is always, how much interest is there? I'll ask the other group managers if they think this would be something they would like to do in 2010. I'm thinking it might make sense to post a sign-up of some sort, and then plan a newbie meeting when/if we gather enough interest.

Drupal Topics

Like Monica, I am not a programmer/developer. I believe you would call me an "unsophisticated user". I wonder whether just once per year, you would consider a topic like, "Drupal for Dummies"? Would anyone come?

RESPONSE - My top choices for PHP UG meetings

I attend the meetings so that I can be more informed and knowledgeable as I am not a programmer. So...my top choices are:

1. PHP - JQuery (ajax)
2. Show & tell session about PHP sites and issues, including how to deal with large projects
3. Best practices
3. PHP MySQL security

Thanks, Todd, for organizing the topics...

Monica
