The nonprofit Maine Technology Users Group hosts its Augusta tech community Peers & Beers on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 4:30 to 6:30pm. This event has been generously co‑sponsored by Consolidated Communications (www.consolidated.com) and will be held at The Gin Mill, 302 Water Street, Augusta, Maine. The event is free, and open to all technology professionals and enthusiasts.

The evening will feature a brief “Tech Spotlight” presentation, “The Maine OPA – Consumer Advocates in an Age of Net Uncertainty” with Liz Wyman, Senior Counsel, State of Maine Office of the Public Advocate. Ms. Wyman will give an overview of the OPA’s role in consumer advocacy, and will briefly explore the status and ambiguity of Net Neutrality policy and how Maine and other states are attempting to mitigate negative consequences for consumers.
In addition, MTUG will discuss the final events in MTUG’s 2017-18 educational season, including the 2018 I.T. Summit & Tradeshow coming this May.
