"Latest Trends in Server Infrastructure & One Company's Story - A Panel Presentation"
The Maine Technology Users Group is hosting a free online webinar Wednesday, April 13, from 11am to 12pm. MTUG's panelists will present a multi-perspective overview of the recent trends in infrastructure solutions toward Software Defined Networking (SDN) and hyperconverged solutions. The presentation will include an end-user/vendor co-presentation about a specific hyperconverged infrastructure deployment.
Panelists will include:
- Doug Ennis, Managing Partner at OneBridge Consulting will give some background of how the standardization of x86 architecture combined with the Software Defined Networking (SDN) mindset gave birth to the Hyper Convergence movement. He will then focus on the basic ingredients of building a converged environment.
- Joe McIntyre, Business Development Manager at Systems Engineering will present how SDN is changing the purchasing decisions for server infrastructure for storage and disaster recovery (DR) solutions. Flexible and efficient SDN backup/DR solutions are driving businesses away from traditional hardware-intensive, proprietary, and expensive DR server infrastructure solutions.
- Brad Martin, IS Manager at Franklin Savings Bank, where a hardware agnostic, hypervisor-based backup and recovery solution has reduced the physical server footprint and expenses while improving his system’s recovery point, time objectives, and operational efficiency for testing the recovery solution.
MTUG Board Members Chris Falk of Reliable Networks, Uli Stewart of Vantage Point Recruiting, and Tonia Ennis of OneBridge Consulting coordinated and will moderate this discussion. MTUG director Kate Carpenter will host the session at the MTUG Webex portal.
