Northern Maine Development Commission (NMDC)

Northern Maine Development Commission is a membership organization comprised of participating communities and counties in the Northern Maine Economic Development District. NMDC provides federal and state services at the regional and local levels.

NMDC will continue its efforts to expand, diversify and attract business and industry in the region. The Commission also will continue its outreach to northern Maine communities and its efforts to work with those communities to create the capacity needed to support development.

Creative Economy Business Assistance Center (CEBAC)

The Creative Economy Business Assistance Center program seeks to provide business resources specifically focused on creative economy businesses in the Aroostook County Empowerment Zone.

The program provides direct assistance to entrepreneurial businesses in the region by providing training and information that will give them tools to make their business more stable, more efficient and more marketable. The business assistance services will help clients identify local materials and resources that can be used to expand or start their business.

Special emphasis will be placed on creating electronic connectivity between businesses (B-to-B) and between businesses and potential customers. A wide scope of training events including E-commerce, Doing Business with the government, Intellectual property issues, capital formation, and Business start-up and feasibility will be part of the program activities.
