iBec Creative was recently named Day’s Jewelers’ website design firm, winning the jeweler’s national request for proposals to redesign their website.

As part of the redesign, iBec will be refreshing the look and functionality of the large and complex site to incorporate better ecommerce technology, a new creative design that showcases the jeweler’s expanding product line, and a custom engagement ring building feature. Eastport, ME, July 23, 2012 –Ocean Renewable Power Company will host a dedication ceremony in Eastport, Maine, tomorrow,Tuesday, July 24, 2012 to celebrate its Cobscook Bay Tidal Energy Project, the first phase of the company’s Maine Tidal Energy Project, and the first commercial, grid-connected ocean energy project in the United States.

The July 24th program will include live music starting at 10:00 a.m. by the SchuthBoys, an Eastport-based musical trio; formal remarks at 11:00 a.m.; and cake, lemonade,and viewing of ORPC’s TidGen™ turbine generator unit (TGU) at 12 noon. This will be the first and last opportunity for the public to see the fully assembled TGU prior to its deployment at ORPC’s Cobscook Bay project site.

Maine Technology Institute (MTI) Board of Directors and Tech Board members have recently awarded $11,565 in three new TechStart Grants and $309,565 in 14 new Seed Grants to entrepreneurs from Bridgton and Biddeford to Portland to Auburn to Orono. The grants were matched by $509,973 by the award recipients. MTI TechStart Grants support entrepreneurs and companies across Maine which are developing new ideas and new products heading to commercialization. Seed Grants support entrepreneurs to pursue early-stage research and development activities to bring new products to market.
